Field Nation Adds New Protections to Platform Insurance Program At No Extra Cost

Field Nation updates insurance policy for platform users, including freelancers, independent contractors, and field service technicians.Last year, Field Nation introduced the first-ever general liability insurance program in the contingent and on-demand workforce management industry. We know that more businesses engage with contractors who have up-to-date insurance credentials listed on their profile, and the Field Nation general liability insurance program ensured that every provider was able to obtain this type of coverage. This is why we are happy to announce the expansion of our innovative and industry-leading insurance program to include professional liability (errors and omissions) coverage at no extra cost.

All providers who sign up to do work on Field Nation have already attested that they have the general liability and other coverages and licenses required to perform work in their designated areas of service. The Field Nation Platform Insurance Program provides a safety net coverage of up to $1,000,000 USD per incident for both general liability and professional liability. Providers who do not have an up-to-date COI in their profile are already automatically enrolled in the Field Nation Platform Insurance Program. Last year, providers under this program had an additional fee deducted from the total value of an approved work order to pay for general liability coverage on a work-order-by-work-order basis.

The inclusion of professional liability coverage has been added to the Field Nation Platform Insurance Program at no additional cost to providers or buyers. As the freelance economy continues to grow, it has become increasingly important for providers to protect their growing businesses and liabilities. This update to Field Nation’s policy not only enables providers and small business owners to boost their credibility and attract potential buyers, but also assists in helping contractors manage their risk and focus on their work.

“Quality work in the gig economy leads to trust and long-term relationships between organizations and their contractors,” said Mynul Khan, CEO at Field Nation. “Most contractors on the Field Nation platform upload their own insurance certificates. The added professional liability coverage removes another barrier to work and creates further confidence among business decision makers that the freelancers they engage with are adequately insured.”

With service buyers and companies looking to capitalize on the benefits offered by the contingent workforce, the Field Nation Platform Insurance Program grants the confidence needed to make the shift from a fixed to variable workforce. We have long been a partner to contractors and organizations looking to conduct quality business and build professional relationships via online platforms, and the Field Nation Platform Insurance Program  serves as one more step in helping users get work done.

All Field Nation providers are encouraged to upload a current general liability COI to their profile.  For those who have already done so, there is no change, no additional charge, and no action required.

For more information on these changes and what they mean for you, visit the Field Nation Platform Insurance page for help on how to upload your COI and to learn more about the updates we have made to the Field Nation Platform Insurance Program.

The Field Nation Platform Insurance Program has been expanded to include professional liability (errors and omissions) coverage. All work orders on the Field Nation marketplace are general liability covered and professional liability covered. Providers with a valid certificate of insurance (COI) on their profile will experience no change. Providers without a valid general liability COI in their profile will continue to be charged an additional 1.3% fee per work order (no change) to pay for the combined GL-PL coverage.
