Summary
A global technology manufacturer used Field Nation to support complex server, storage, GPU, and networking infrastructure across 24 states. Nearly three-quarters of the work focused on server and storage systems, with most projects requiring multiple visits—demonstrating Field Nation’s ability to support sophisticated data center environments and sustained technical engagements at scale.

Specialized support for complex data center infrastructure
A global technology manufacturer needed skilled field technicians to support enterprise server, storage, GPU, and networking infrastructure across a distributed customer footprint. Unlike straightforward device installations or one-time break/fix calls, much of this work required deeper technical expertise, extended time on site, and coordination across multiple visits.
Server and storage work represented nearly three-quarters of all service volume, with networking accounting for another significant share. These systems can serve as critical components of modern data center and high-performance computing environments, including infrastructure supporting GPU-intensive workloads. With projects spanning 55 cities across 24 states, the company needed a workforce model capable of delivering specialized expertise wherever customer demand emerged.
Field Nation provided access to a nationwide network of experienced technicians without requiring the company to build and maintain a captive field organization. Every one of its more than 3,800 work orders was successfully assigned, giving project teams confidence that specialized field capacity would be available when and where it was needed.
One platform for complex field operations
Managing server, storage, GPU, and networking infrastructure through traditional third-party service partners can mean coordinating multiple regional vendors, contracts, invoices, compliance processes, travel expenses, and communication channels. For technical projects requiring multiple site visits, that complexity can grow quickly.
Field Nation consolidated those activities into one platform. Project teams could source technicians, route assignments, document communication, manage expenses, process payments, and monitor provider performance from a centralized system.
That visibility was particularly valuable for complex infrastructure projects. Nearly 89% of work orders involved multiple visits, and technicians averaged more than 30 hours of logged work per engagement. Rather than limiting Field Nation to transactional service calls, the company used the platform to manage sustained technical work across enterprise and data center environments.
The platform also simplified provider quality management. The company worked with more than 130 technicians while maintaining an average Provider Success Score of 94 out of 100. This gave project managers access to a broad technician pool while still allowing them to identify and repeatedly engage proven providers for specialized assignments.
Reliable execution without added overhead
Over nearly three years, the company completed more than 3,800 work orders across its distributed U.S. footprint. Work orders were assigned in approximately two days on average, while the median assignment occurred in just 18 hours.
Quality remained strong as operations scaled. Every rated engagement received positive feedback, and reported problems represented only a small portion of overall work. Once work was completed, approvals averaged just one day, helping keep projects and payments moving efficiently.
Beyond technician sourcing, Field Nation handled many of the administrative functions that traditionally accompany a distributed contractor network—from payment processing and expense documentation to communication records and compliance workflows. This allowed the company to concentrate on supporting customers and expanding its server, storage, GPU, and networking business rather than building an internal organization around field labor logistics.
The engagement demonstrates how Field Nation can support sophisticated enterprise and data center infrastructure programs—not simply by finding technicians, but by providing the workforce, visibility, and operational infrastructure required to manage complex server, storage, GPU, and networking work at scale.
