A technician’s guide to Managed Recruitment

September 29, 2020

Tips for improving your Field Nation opportunities

This guide will help you understand and navigate a Field Nation offering called Managed Recruitment — invitation-only opportunities for our technician community that exists outside of general marketplace listings.

What is a Managed Recruitment?

A Managed Recruitment helps Field Nation clients recruit qualified technicians for upcoming work that the client has been awarded. The invitation is only sent to a subset of technicians that meet the requirements and expectations set by the client.

Typically, a Managed Recruitment targets technicians with specific experience or qualifications. Once a Managed Recruitment is set up, the platform identifies pre-qualified technicians based on their work order history, profile, screenings, or certifications, and invites them to apply.

Once you are invited to a Managed Recruitment, you will need to provide additional information to determine whether or not you meet all of the requirements for the opportunity.

There may be scenarios where a technician is invited to participate in a Managed Recruitment but doesn’t have the exact certification or credential the client is looking for. Should you not be qualified for a specific Managed Recruitment, this does not disqualify you from future ones. Be sure to keep an eye out for other Managed Recruitment opportunities and continue to participate.

What are the benefits of participating?

When you’re invited to participate in a Managed Recruitment, it means that you’re only competing against a small group of technicians for the opportunity. This allows you to proactively seek out work that isn’t available to the general Field Nation marketplace.

What additional types of requirements are included in Managed Recruitment?

Clients use a Managed Recruitment to gather more information about technicians before selecting them to work on a project.

The Managed Recruitment might include things like a:

  • Short quiz
  • Survey
  • Technical questions
  • Request for certification or license documentation

Completion of the assigned task is a prerequisite for being considered for a Managed Recruitment opportunity.

If questions are posed, it’s important to take the time to create thoughtful, thorough responses so you stand out from others who are also vying for the work.

How will I know if I’ve been invited to participate?

Our dedicated Managed Recruitment team will contact you about the opportunity. You will receive an email invitation with details about the project, and a link to complete the Managed Recruitment.

If you start or complete a Managed Recruitment (quiz, survey, etc.), you can monitor the status of the ones you are participating in from your Recruitments tab on the Field Nation website.

How can I improve my chances of being selected?

Keep your profile up-to-date with all of your skills and experience. Also, make sure your certifications, background checks and drug screenings are current. By doing so, you’ll maximize your chances of being selected for Managed Recruitment projects.

When you see a Managed Recruitment cross your desk, you’ll know that your experience is in demand. Be sure to take advantage of these projects to grow your opportunities on Field Nation.
