We recommend letting the type of work determine the pay rate structure (e.g. hourly, fixed, or blended). The best pay structure usually depends on a number of variables, including time to task, number of devices/installs per site, budget requirements, and how much is or is not known about the sites state. Finding a qualified provider for your work orders is critical to getting work done on Field Nation. To help you better evaluate prospective providers, access the Provider Match tab to make finding and assigning the right provider faster and easier than ever. The Provider Match tab brings the best providers to the top of your results, gives you more control, and saves you time and effort.

As a two-sided marketplace, it’s essential for us to facilitate relationships while ensuring the safety and respect of all parties. The two most common forms of communication between buyers and providers are in-platform messaging (found within each work order on your Flightboard) and phone calls (found on the provider profile). Before contacting a provider, it’s important to consider your relationship with them and whether or not it would be appropriate to reach out at this time.

Field Nation offers two types of integrations: Field Service Connectors and Client API. Field Service Connectors are prebuilt middleware solutions that connect Field Nation to your existing ticketing systems, including Salesforce, Autotask, Connectwise, and many more. You can create new work orders and/or retrieve updates and data using APIs & Webhooks. Please check out the Field Nation integrations page for additional information.

Field Nation offers the industry’s most comprehensive risk management program designed to protect clients and service providers using the marketplace. Providers can either purchase insurance coverage from Field Nation or agree to carry their own insurance with minimum coverage amounts equal to what Field Nation offers. Learn more here.

Field Nation has a network of Platform Management Partners that can give you additional dispatch capacity. These partners can support:

– Project scoping: Creating projects and templates, analyzing pay rates, and more
– Talent management: Vetting, assigning, scheduling, and confirming technicians
– Deliverable review: Reviewing deliverables and/or approving work (based on your predetermined criteria)

Both project and break/fix work often involve parts management. Parts can be sent to the work site, to a pickup location, directly to a provider, or stored in advance at a stocking location. Determine the most effective method and add clear language about parts pick up and/or return requirements into the work order service description and tasks. If providers go to multiple locations to pick up and/or return parts, budget for potential additional travel expenses. If parts need to be returned, ensure pre-printed return labels and packaging are on-site for providers and clear instructions are provided (e.g. leave parts with the site manager or designated contact).

Buyers can pull performance data in many ways. The Work Order Activity report allows you to create a personalized report to analyze your work orders. You can run a one-time report, save a report to run again later or set up recurring reports that will be sent via email. 
 
The Executive Dashboard provides company and marketplace metrics about time to approve, company ratings, manager approval grades, and more. Use this dashboard to monitor your Time to Approve metric and compare it to the marketplace average to stay competitive with other buyers.
